Service void on most base units is around 70mm. Any waste pipe clipped to the wall will stand proud by 8-10mm, and another 4-5mm clearance will be needed for the clips. So a 50mm OD pipe is going to need a ~65mm gap - Going to be close. Then if there are any water pipes that need to be routed from below the waste pipe to connect to things like taps, you may as well forget it... Unless you can modify the base units to increase the service void (possible. I have done it myself).

Yes, this is investigations prior to replacing the kitchen, probably in the spring, so when the pipework goes in there will be no kitchen units in.
We'll definitely have to think about the size of the service void. I think other than where the actual sink is the only other thing it would have to get past would be the gas hob and the current gas line would be above the pipe already.
We're also thinking about the comments of maybe moving the whole sink to the other side of the kitchen to reduce the run. Cant quite get my head around it at the moment, but maybe with a 3D kitchen planner.
