Porcelain pavers appear to be losing their colour

weve just had a porcelain patio laid, approx 60m2, it was lad 4 weeks ago. Been out today to give it a spray over with the garden hose and a sweep and noticed around a lot of the pavers, it looks as though the top colour/coating (I know that arent painted or coated but the only way to describe it) is wearing off or coming away? There no evidence of a residue but its on most of the pavers, even the few that havent been grouted yet. At first i thought it may of been grout residue but its not.
Any ideas please before I call the supplier? Just wondered if anyone had ever seen it before?

Thats not the top colour/coating coming off: that's the top layer of your slab, exposing the substrate, Very bad, it should never happen. Complain to the supplier for sure.1

Are they branded slabs ?

Hi chickereeeee - I googled substrate but it said it was the base that tiles/pavers and stuck to? Or do you mean it’s the main part of the paver itself, prior to the top coat being finished?Chickereeeee said:Thats not the top colour/coating coming off: that's the top layer of your slab, exposing the substrate, Very bad, it should never happen. ive looked at one paver in the showroom where I bought them and that looks the same?0 -
Hi molerat - I’ll check tomorrow as have a couple left unused outside. I think they are from Italy, which I read previously that is a better place for porcelain pavers to come from?molerat said:Are they branded slabs ?0
