I am replacing a rear window in my lounge with French doors and my home insurance is due around the time they will be installed I don't have a fixed time yet but before the end of November is the nearest time I can get.
I am using comparison sites and one of the questions asked, are there are French doors.
Should I answer that I have French doors or not?
They will be uPVC.

The next question will be on the lock type on the patio doors... do you know that?
Patio doors (rather than french doors) are historically fairly insecure and hence by declaring that you have them is likely to load the premium. No insurer is ever going to have much of an issue with you paying too much premium unlike if you are paying too little. As you are talking a possible week or twos difference then put the details of the patio doors in if you know the locking mechanism.0 -
I mistakenly put patio doors they are French doors made from uPVC with multi point locking, I am getting new double glazing at the same time0
