    I don't think they have been paying though, check above where they mention not noticing the DD had changed...
    I suspect this is just one fuel moving and the other staying where it was.
    In the current circumstances I would have been inclined to leave the switch as it was and gone down the back-billing route to limit the exposure to the previous 12 months.
    Not sure that is still an option at this point though...

     MWT Sorry I don't agree - The statement, "So didn't notice the Direct Debit change", is rather ambiguous and needs explanation, but the OP positively states that until now, there have not been any communications between himself and Greenstar, let alone bank details for D/D payments. Over a 4 year period with one supplier, the D/D would have changed several times.

    Suppliers are getting cuter with definition of "Bill Shock" on Back-Billing rules - If in this case Greenstar could establish they were the legal supplier and entitled to payment for two years worth of energy, then the current supplier would have to pay back all the monies they had collected from the OP - So money in & money out = No Bill Shock  

    Ianredman26 Get that letter of Complaint written and post it by Royal mail with a free certificate of posting, and include in the letter that until the matter is satisfied, Ofgem rules bar the both the Supplier and Debt Collection Agencies from issueing payment demands
