Samsung 860 QVO or 870 QVO?

Been asked to buy the Samsung 860 QVO however I'm noticing the 870 QVO is often a few pound cheaper even though its a newer release. I don't know anything about these things, is there any difference between the two, am I better off buying the 870?

I was asked to buy the 1TB 860 QVO. It's for an 18 year old building his own computer. I have no idea why he's chosen the QVO0

Arguably the EVO is the better SSD. But if you have to buy the QVO then get the newer model.0

I would suggest also looking at the Crucial MX500 which is about 10% cheaper and arguably a better drive.
