Huge gas debt

I still find the total owed suspicious, it isn't easy to use that much gas, so I'd be looking at the bills for estimated readings and imperial/metric errors.

If hubby couldn't be £rsed to pay the gas bill for maybe 4 years, then it's most unlikely that he read the meters either. Leccy is already on a PPM, we're told water is up to date.
I'd be checking the council tax account too...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
And Now Here Is Next Week's News..."Help ! I'm due in court next month. Last Saturday we were watching the tennis on the box when a bloke from Capita rang the bell and asked to see our TV licence. Hubby said I always bought them, but I've never bought one in my life ! Now I'm going to be fined £1,000. What can I do?"3

The sum owed could very well include lots of charges and legal costs added to the account before the ppm was fitted.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0

If the debt has been set to be recovered via the PPM, then how long will it take? What is the maximum weekly amount that can be taken? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

You both need to sit down and plan your finances, how much money is coming in and what essential bills do you pay. then what is left should go towards paying your debts,
Plus take meter readings now and check against the moving in readings to see how much gas, electricity etc you are using.
Do you pay for Sky tv? or virgin? if so cancel now as a punishment and use money saved to pay off the debt.
