    Morning all :)
Day of annoying small jobs today I have decided. Early morning dog walk done, and I am continuing to use up rather unappetising supermarket apples for breakfast fruit. OK, annoying jobs list:
Move some money from an account that is paying 0.01% interest. I know interest rates are poor atm, but that is ridiculous (Done, what a palaver as I had to move it to a different bank). I knew that would be a particularly annoying job! Now need to check it is where it is supposed to be, but will probably wait till Monday before I try, to allow it to sort itself out.
Fill up storage jars that are running low (Done)
Usual kitchen and bathroom clean up (bathroom done)
Freeze most of the stewed apple I made the other day. Used a small amount yesterday for a crumble (which will last us for about 3 days)
Fold up and put away washing on airer. Iron any of it that needs it first.
Mend the hem on a pair of curtains I washed the other day, iron and put away (I suspect I will mend them with the iron and tape stuff as well tbh, as I dislike sewing even more than ironing :#
Make sure spending diary is up to date (find annoying receipts in my bag) and update spreadsheet
List some more ebay items as I have some ending today
And that will be enough annoyances for today!
Not much cooking needed, as I made a big shepherds pie yesterday and there is enough for today as well :) so just need to warm it up and cook some veg to go with it. Crumble for pud.
    Might make some scones
    No plans to spend anything.
  • Afternoon folks

I did cook up my gammon joint and was about to cut it up when the phone rang. Got off the phone to find that OH had done all the hard work for me! We also did the workout at 6 yesterday. Keeping reasonable momentum with movement this time round. I did 3 zoom classes and 1 other workout last week. Plus I walked 3-4 miles each day and got to the allotment.

Today I finished tidying the strawberry bed at home. Set aside some plants for my friend - I think I'll persuade OH to drive over there tomorrow to deliver them (obvs will leave on doorstep). Today OH wanted to go for a walk. Suddenly hit on visiting nearby RSPB reserve that we've never been to. We took the monocular and the bird book kindly given to me by a member of our dear small things crew. Didn't see many birds in all, but saw robins, goldfinches, mallards, a special type of duck called a shoveller and the biggest flock of geese I've ever seen. Sheep and cows too and a nice view. Had to pay £3.75 each to get in but felt that we had our money's worth of enjoyment and have decided that we would go back.

This afternoon OH has already comandeered the bath so I've had a little tidy round and then I'm going to sit down with my knitting and try to finish my sock today. Tea is going to be some of the ham from yesterday with mash, carrots, cabbage and sweetcorn. Am looking forward to it already!

    Take care everyone

  • Afternoon - lazy day here so far but oh has started to paint the really high bit in the hallway after we borrowed some stair ladders. It is not for the faint hearted that's for sure! (so that means me ) He's relatively happy doing it on his own currently so I will tidy up the d/s and do some sewing

    Also:
    * all meals from stores
    * load of washing done, just need to hang it up
    * started a new book from stores as finished my current/last one when I work up at 3.30
    * might go for a walk, depends what time oh finishes
    * change lightbulbs that have blown in the kitchen
    * make meal plan for next week. Using up as much as possible from the freezers

    That's all

  • Hi all

Went for a walk earlier, feels like a while since we did a longer walk. Now lazing about. More stuff to go on Ebay tomorrow and a dump run planned. Then more lazing about l expect!

  • Hi all
Nice autumn day today. I have put a couple of things on Ebay and paid another sum off the loan. I've moved to the new payment system on ebay, it feels odd. Collected some eggs from the school chickens. We look after them st weekends every now and then.

I've only vacuumed today. Very lazy! Oh well...it will still be there tomorrow..

I agree @carrielovesfanta it is very mild. I hope it's cold at Christmas.

Off on a nice free walk w friend in a minute. Yesterday when I had to take ds to the train was the first time I used my car since Tuesday, and as it was school run on Tuesday my car was outside of my neighbours all that time, they are very understanding. Tricked boys into vacuuming yesterday - I cooked them logs of food :-)

    Afternoon all :)
Not feeling very busy today, but I have:
Early morning dog walk done - in the fog :#
More fruit bowl reject apple eaten with breakfast, only one and a half left
Some stuff has been put away. More to do.
Sun came out, so I got on and weeded and manured raspberry bed, and put up border edging  / low fence stuff, to stop the dog walking about on the manure. It is quite a high raised bed, which backs onto the wall between our garden and next door's. But he can jump like a cat, and tends to jump up there to see what is going on when he hears the kids next door (he likes kids, they play and drop crumbs :D)  Anyway, the low fence deters him.
Pulled up the rest of the beetroot, so need to wash and cook those.
Finished up 2 wraps left in the packet for lunch
Quick hoover round done, with battery upright thing - doesn't do a great job on hard floors, but better than nothing! Means I can put off getting the 'proper' vacuum cleaner out for a couple more days.
Now feeling decidedly lazy. I have 4 small ebay sales to pack ready for posting
And check if I have any more of the rather bland HM apple chutney that we are not particularly keen on (it is ok but we prefer spicier recipes) to pass on to a neighbour, as he loves it.
Dinner will be fish and chips (home made, not from a take away). Need to egg and breadcrumb the fish.
Ziggy, I hope you and your family are ok.
