Morning all,Looks a mixed day weather wise, I've been out with the dog but if it's nice and bright I like to go for a walk in the afternoon too. Had a nice weekend with DGS here, unfortunately DGD didnt stay as she had been sick. We went for a walk in the woods as he wanted to make a den, & we went to where we spotted one back in the summer but it had got nearly flattened when a tree came down. On the plus side there were plenty of branches to use, DS manipulating the longer ones
and dgs was happy with the result repairing the old den.Photos taken for posterity!
Roast gammon and a turkey joint yesterday with all the trimmings. We had a change from our usual sticky toffee pud and had a fruit sponge instead. Enough of the turkey left to freeze into a hm ready meal for DS to pop in his freezer. I managed to get rid of another 3 bags of 'stuff' to equip his kitchen yesterday so am def looking a bit tidierI think I'd better get on with changing the beds etc now, been on the lappie long enough! Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all! Not a very productive weekend apart from sorting 15 ish bags of books to go. I found somewhere near ish that will take them but not until the lockdown is over, or I can go down the selling them route as I've discovered one of the places will pick them up if they weight over a certain amount [ which they most definitely do]. But that means organising boxes and stuff, not sure I can be faffed. So, storage boxes to go through today, I don't anticipate getting rid of much from them, just a bit of collecting things together and wrapping up some of the more delicate stuff. I have a couple of dala horses that are about eighty years old and I don't want those being bashed about [ they are my concession to ornaments]. The boot is getting full already and I haven't put in the little bedside thing yet either.Breakfast is going to be boiled egss I think, with soldiers. It's that kind of day. Supper last night was another giant Yorkie with mince and gravy and red cabbage. Same again tonight. They can be cooked in the top oven/grill on their own so I don't have to put the big one on. Although there's always scope ot make a cake if the big one is on!WL, I found that freezing and defrosting a couple of bananas by themselves and using the liquid too in a banana loaf made it come out quite well. This time I vacuum packed a couple to see how they do. Ruby, what about a few premium bonds? Or ask on the money boards..she may get more ideas. Wishing everyone good luck with keeping busy or enjoying doing nothing or a happy medium
Maybe/Maybe not Monday!

Morning everybody,
Need to try to get through to the hospital to pay the e100 I owe for my night in A&E......they weren't taking messages when I tried on Friday......hospital is closed due to Covid19 outbreak.......not sure what I will do if I can't pay over phone as they won't let me in!!
Ruby......so glad that DDs money has come through.....hopefully she can find something that will give her a decent return......in ROI you only get a semi decent rate if you leave the money in for years, think you might get something better in UK, research and research! Good idea for you to put hospital stuff into case as you think of it........keep a list.
Overcast here with rain promised for later...... surprise, surprise. Have more C puddings to steam and knitting to do.
-taff......I wish that I still had a double oven, the little one was great when I just wanted to cook something small.
Wish that I could bring myself to get rid of some of my books.....they mostly will end up in a skip when I pop my clogs!
Have a good day everybody and stay safe.

Sorry, late again. I also woke in the night and made the mistake of picking up a book. 3 hours later I spoke to myself severely, put the book down and went back to sleep. Surfaced again just before 10. At least in Lockdown you know you are safe from visitors!
Today will be back to dragging stuff about trying to find enough floor space for the TD that I am being given. I'm determined not to have it in the sitting room. Conversation piece it maybe, but even I have my limits.
tru, I love my lists. I could sit and look at them for hours. Sometimes I even change the date on the ToDo list, until the paper gets too worn out with constant fingering.
Try to enjoy whatever you are doing, or not doing.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When I can look life in the eyes,
Grown calm and very coldly wise,
Life will have given me the truth
And taken in exchange - my youth. (Sara Teasdale)
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.13
