Hi,
sorry if this is posted into the wrong section of the forum.. if you let me know where it’s supposed be i will repost in that catorgory..
I’m considering purchasing an old moped that’s for sale 130 miles from my home. I know this isn’t essential purchase but is it effectively click and collect? Which is allowed for all non essential retail?

I have no COVID symptoms, I will wear a mask and stay 2 meters from them whilst collecting.
Facebook marketplace/ebay/gumtree are still allowing collection only ads so i was just after some advise.

Unfortunately, lockdown rules aren't made by Facebook marketplace/ebay or gumtree. They are made by the UK government. You can possibly click and collect from somewhere like Argos or a retail store but NOT from a private seller. But there again, the UK government says NOT to travel unless your journey is essential. See number 11 in this document : https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november#travel You could be fined if you're stopped and you're not travelling for one of the permitted purposes.
It's the law. At least until 2 December. And maybe even beyond that if people don't stop dying from Covid. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. There is a reason these restrictions are in place. I’m sure any sellers will wait a few weeks until restrictions may hopefully lift.0 -
Thank you both for your replies, I figured it was pushing it a bit, I would hate to get stopped by the police.. thanks for the advice i was always doubting it myself.. will contact seller and see if they will hold onto it until this lockdown is over..
