  • So just updating as to what happened:
Although the ECC replied to say we didn't really have much of a legal position, my GF had already emailed them threatening to bill them for wasted time and stress caused by the inadequate delivery. They got back promptly saying they would "consult their legal dept" and then followed this up with an email a few days later offering £300 refund and a £100 voucher (in addition to a £46 voucher already offered for 'inconvenience') - we refused and asked for the cost of materials we had received a quote for - that being about £460, in addition to the £46 voucher for inconvenience. They agreed to this and sent over the refund.
So now I have some joinery to do, should cost a little less than the £460 hopefully.

When we lived in France we bought a lot of furniture from the French part of this company and found it to be great quality, real solid wood etc.  We only had one problem with a table weld coming apart and they replaced it straight away telling us to keep the damaged one, local garage welded, quick rub down and spray and we had two tables for the price of one.
this is in stark contrast to several other french companies we had to deal with.

The furniture itself seems like good quality, its real wood framed and veneered chipboard/mdf for the rest, which is expected in any furniture in it's price range (around £1200).
But their logistics/warehousing for the UK part of this company appears abysmal. There are plenty of similar reports on Trustpilot, and then to add to our experience above when we spent the 'good will' voucher on a bar cart it did not arrive, but instead we got a horribly ugly silver box. Inside was the address and number of someone else who my partner texted to see if it was just a matter or swapping the items, but alas that person had received yet another persons order.

So currently they are 2 for 2 on screwing up delivery to us, as well as screwing up delivery to this other person and it seem like one other person as well...
