So fed of having to clean cats poo on my lawn everyday.  It is disgusting I cannot put my washing to dry outside without stepping on their poos.  I have tried everything from sonic etc.  Having tried to block their ways with prickly branches do not work, they go around it.  I have just bought scaring cat mat sfrom ebay upposed to be harmless to them but act as a deterrent but it is so expensive & not discreet.  I am going to take on board somebody suggested bbq stewkers and give it a try will have to wait in summer as do not think they are being sold now.  Has anybody find something that works, the cats in my neighbourhood are determined to use my lawn as their toilet. I would not mind anywhere else but not the lawns.  Thanks

How are the cats getting to your lawn where the washing line is? It sounds as though they are going through a wrought iron gate.
I agree that you could put netting over the gate.
But they will jump a wooden one or walk along fence panels and find ways up and down.
I blocked the underneath gap in my wooden gate by cutting rubber car mats to size and tacking them to the bottom. I have a trellis arch in front of the gate with a rose growing through.
I've also put cheap expanding trellis at the top of the fence panels which stops them jumping up because there isn't room for them to jump, land or walk along the top. I have fairy lights on some and plants growing over others.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It's unusual for cats to leave poo out in the open, but not impossible.

Just a few months ago I'd been cursing the dog owner letting their dog poo on my lawn... Until I saw a very large cat doing so! Culprit caught in the act.

The cats have changed their habits they used to bury their poos but now they do it on the lawn.  It is gross I do not want to post pic of their poos all over lawn.  There are about three cats who visit my garden and everyday there is poo om the lawn.  I used to pick it up with a small trowel I bought.  I do not mind them doing it anywhere but not the lawn with clean washing hanging up over poos.  I have done everything humanely possible to deter but they are very determined to do it on both front and back alwns.  They jump over the 6 ft fence.I have put obstructions and I have watched them carefully go around it.  These cats are determined to upset, no matter what I do they find a way to get in. I give up.  I will keept out of the garden since it is getting cold and may be in summer will buy cat deterrent granules they are selling at wilko.

  • Hi ahfat, how about one of those water sprayers that you can attach to your garden hose that has a sensor on it?  Apologies if already mentioned but I have avoided this thread a bit lol 🐙
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈
