It's good to set boundaries. I limit time I spend with people I find toxic. That way I can be nice for short periods but there's an end in sight so it doesn't get too much for me. Sometimes I also avoid them... Just say - sorry that's not going to work for me and don't offer an explanation or give them any room to renegotiate.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm planning a new spreadsheet for 2022 - my old one is getting very full, and its time for a fresh approach to the debt-free challenge. I will finally be able to focus on the mortgage next year - I used to feel disheartened that its such a long challenge (and I could be 70 by MF date), but I've learnt this past 18 months to take it on in small chunks - seeing the equity grow is really satisfying and opens up more options for remortgaging, moving and working/retiring. I'm also feeling more positive about life, managing relationships and work - its good to share on here and read other people's advice and their own life stories. We're all making progress at our own rates, but still moving forward.
Edit - I just had a rejig of my signature. Feels like the time for a push to get things done by the year end."Think of many things, do one"

Great to see forward planning already.Mi think as we get older we all get less tolerant of people / things that annoy us. Glad to hear you feel better for making the decision to be less present at times.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thanks @debtfreeoneday and @savingholmes - I am coming to terms with it all now. Feeling calmer and more organised helps as well as realising its not just me
I've knocked a few things off the ToDo list today, its involved some spending, but its all planned for, and I made a fleebay sale over the weekend (about a tenner). 12 things left to cross off the ToDo list, really satisfying to see that list getting smaller.

Sometimes you just need to reset. I need to book a day or two off to do some sorting out - its one of those jobs where everything comes off the shelves, is sorted and then goes back (or goes off). I've decided I'm not going to do that over a weekend as I need some relaxing time these days.
I have to nip to the PO today, so that will mean some steps in too. Also need to sort the cat flea/wormer, and my alexa dot has the blue ring of death, so I need to call Am@zon as its been less than a year since I bought it. Dentist appointment is coming up soon as well, I can't remember the last time I went - might be before lockdown. Then I really need to sort new glasses out after that's all done - I think I last had my eyes checked about 5 years ago now. I've got a lot to do before the end of the year"Think of many things, do one"

My mortgage if I get the term I want will also be into my 70s as I am trying to have as long as term as possible to keep the payments down, I am even considering if I can get a part interest only mortgage as well.
Hope the dentist is OK, I ended up having 3 fillings!!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks @LadyWithAPlan, I'm hoping there's nothing too much to fix (if anything) at the dentist - fingers very crossed.
Its funny how when you are younger you almost wish time away, but although I'm looking forward to paying the mortgage off, it doesn't feel quite the same. Although I am determined to get fitter, so maybe I'll be out mountain climbing by then
We've made a decision to start eating more healthily now, and I've upped my exercise. I used to do a lot of different sports, but things happen and then before you know it everything is too much trouble. I don't think being in never ending debt helped that, and things are definitely lighter and brighter now that has almost gone.
Thanks @savingholmes, I definitely need to prioritise myself from now on
