Moved the desk around today and what a difference it has made. Next step is to buy a large chest of drawers and then do some 'tile sliding' to fit it in. I'd really love to buy a larger desk, but the one I've seen is £260 and I can cope with my current one for a while yet. Its a 'nice to have' not a 'have to have'. Bit of work done outside too - we are definitely making progress - its just frustrating when you want to sort something out but even reach it unless you have a major move around (and there isn't anywhere to put anything anyway). Still, one step at a time and we will get there.

Thanks dfod. I am feeling so stressed out at the moment with these job moves, but there really is only one way to go and that's forward. I managed to do a first sort of the garage yesterday. I couldn't put everything outside but I managed to shuffle everything around inside and have a bit of a clean up of the floor. Two bulky things are ready to go to the recycling centre, which means I can see the wood for the trees. I have a box and bag of stuff for the charity shop, and two boxes of stuff to sell. Once those are gone I will get everything off the shelves and then re-organise it back on. First thing first is to buy a chest of drawers so I can get organised inside the house.
Good news on the spending front - MrShores and I have agreed that a project which would cost us around £1500 will be put on the backburner for a year while we think about it a bit more. I'm pleased, because we have been doing so much spending lately - all good spending, adding value to the house, but it will be nice to have a break from laying cash out and actually start paying off the mortgage"Think of many things, do one"

Thanks dfod and savingholmes, things are coming together bit by bit. DH took a trip to the recycling centre today and that's cleared the way for me to get to the charity shop stuff - that will be next week's job. The two large boxes of stuff and a few other bits need to go on fb or fleabay - job for the weekend. MrShores is going to do a bit of work on the garage next week too - which will mean more room to manoeuvre. Its amazing how the space is getting organised bit by bit.
Had a bit of a stressy day yesterday, there's a lot of change at the moment and its bringing up all kinds of feelings and regrets. So its really good to take some pleasure in the small things - our plants are growing, there are new leaves on the laurels and the bumble bees love them, a rose bush I planted last year is blooming, a masonry bee has trusted its cocoon with us in our hosepipe cover and some little birds are regularly flitting around the garden. Bit of a change from our barren builders patch this time last year. I've decided I'm going to buy or make a bee hotel and look for a water feature - I quite like the idea of the sound of tinkling water, but its good for the wildlife too. I've long term plans to make a flower bed full of flowers for the butterflies and bees but I'll have fun planning that as its in a bit of a wet spot too."Think of many things, do one"

@SandyShores the garden sounds like a lovely project, we put in a (tiny) wildlife pond earlier in the Spring and last week we had our first visit from both a red damsel fly and a hornet, the area is literally buzzing with life already. It's so addictive I'm already planning my next one, a drinking trough with a small cascade in it - except there are currently no galvanised drinking troughs to be had in the country (aprart from vastly over priced ones on ebay).

Oooh I love a garden. I'm so lucky to have bought a house where the previous owners genuinely went to town on the garden and made it lovely. I just try and keep on top of the upkeep where I can. We gets lots of bees, birds and other wildlife. It's genuinely is my happy place. I hope your plans do the same for you.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

We used an old Belfast sink for our wildlife pond. Currently teeming with tadpoles in various stages of development. Be one of the first things we do at the next place (if we actually move one day)DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thanks Twinklie, I know what you mean about happy place - the little creatures and the flowers really bring so much joy. Wildlife pond visitors sound lovely chiglepig, I am thinking about a trough too. So cute debtfree that you have tadpoles. Its amazing that we have so much wildlife around us."Think of many things, do one"
