Replace oil central heating...am I mad?

The house I am buying and renovating has oil fired central heating.
The house I am renting has flash areoflow electric stand alone radiators which I didn't think I would like, but find I get on with. (controllable, no maintainace etc)
Given that I am almost certainly going to have to replace the boiler and upgrade the radiators if I keep the oil, I'm considering getting rid and installing the electric stand alone rads.
Am I mad to even consider it?

As a box of frogs :-)
Not really. This will be your house, to live in? In which case it comes down to what you prefer.
Pros of electric: Low maintenance. Low hassle (no tanks to refill). Low noise. Frees up space, inside and out. Clean.
Cons: Running cost of energy.
For resale, unless you add PVs and batteries, it'll likely be a turn-off for many.

The reason people use oil for heating is that it's cheap. Much cheaper than electricity.Storage heaters on Economy 7 would be less expensive to run. But not as controllable. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thanks for the replies folks. As I thought, it's a daft idea.0
