I’m building a small extension and at the knock through stage. The building inspector has specified 178x75 RSJ and can I find one?! No.
Any ideas?

178 X 102 readily available, so just go larger, over size/ strength will never be a concern0

As above, a 178 x 102 UB is the common size with varying weights. Are you sure the BCO was talking about an RSJ as in a UB/UC as opposed to a PFC, which does have a section size of 180 x 75?
What thickness of wall is this beam supporting as a 75mm wide beam is narrow for an external wall, unless it’s only supporting a single brick/block wall above or floor joists? If the wall above is thicker, the beam would need a bottom plate. Also check the padstone and bearing requirements.0
