Digital Media Set Up

Hi

It has been a while since I set up all my digital media on my NAS and linked my hi-fi and TV for music and films, and I find I need to start again with the music side.

The music is all held on my NAS (ReadyNAS Duo) running Logitech Media Server.  This is linked to the Logitech SqueezePlayer with a SqueezeController (although we tend to use the mobile app to control it).

I am moving over to a Synology DS918+ which no longer support Logitec Media Server, so my question is do I need to throwaway my SqueezeBox solution and go Sonos (for example) or will the SqueezePlayer work with Plex Media Server (for example), or is there another option, i.e. Plex on the NAS and a 3rd party controller plugged in to my Hi-Fi system?

Would very much welcome any current insights in to the options.

TIA
