It's strange that MSE haven't heard of the thousands of pounds that people on their own forum have made by switching, sometimes through a single offer. These figures that they quote always seem a bit lame!

It's probably for the better.
I did notice, though, that the author of the article did not mention that it can be rather risky to request a switch before you haven't got full access to the new account. Whilst this isn't an issue to the seasoned switchers who are hanging out on this forum, it can end in tears for those who are switching their one and only account.0 -
And if it is a link on the MSE site that you use. MSE also get a nice kickback for you using the link.
That is how ML made so much money....Life in the slow lane1 -
Hopefully this thread will prompt people to tell us how much they've made from switches over the years. That's never a dull topic.0

I'd guess at about £3.5k0

Many on here will have made much more, as most of the loopholes available aren't raised/discussed on here for obvious reasons.crumpet_man said:I'd guess at about £3.5k
Personally my best ever year was £2,300, thanks largely to the generosity of YB.
Last year I think I made £600, thanks mainly to Santander.
I can't even begin to estimate what I've had from A&L and Nationwide referrals over the years, but must be well into 4 figures.
And then I've had every offer you could have just the once (some of them twice - speculate to accumulate and all that).
But I'm aware I probably won't be anywhere near the top of the leader board as some on here are far more aggressive!0 -
Considerably more than £1k
