Morning all! The wood arrived yesterday and we stacked, or I stacked and OH passed it to me. Such a lovely friendly bloke delivering, I must go on their website and write a note of thanks. Weirdly, when we have had wood before, the porch starts smelling of wood immediately. This time, with the kiln dried stuff, it smells of bread which is making me hungry. I've just moved my car back onto the drive which is why I walked past it. We tried out some last night and it burns for a very long time [one log = two and a bit hours] so I feel as if we are winter ready now and the small niggle of unpreparedness has gone.Next job, room of doom..or more accurately, The ROOOOM of DOOOOOM as it plays in my head when I think about it. I have four days before a tip run and an OH willing and able to take things and tetris them into the boot so no excuses. No idea what's for supper, we ate the kedgeree last night again but it's definitely finished now. I picked the last of the tomatoes in the greenhouse a few days ago so they're sitting there with nothing to do, I'll do a recipe search and see what I can do [ can you hear me procrastinating from there? ] I also have to go out for cat food so a whizz round BM is on the cards [ I usually only go into two aisles, the main one to get in and then the one with cat food and straight to the till] .It's 1.50 cheaper there than anywhere else. And while I type I'm looking at my holey socks so will need to order some of those before long...Ruby good result yesterday then and arf arf to the ex! Gers, the talk sounded interesting, I do like a bit of historical info. Happy Birthday to your mum Nelski, hope she enjoys it.....the film sounds good! Have a good day alland all to come or all reading, freshening up Friday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Hello all, just got back from Mr Fix It's blood test and now having a coffee. As the sun was shining we gave the car a run out on the way back and took the long scenic route home as we are now allowed to go over into the next borough. I did miss calling in the garden centre for coffee and cake, but going through the lanes looking at pretty homes and autumn gardens was lovely, up and down the by-pass was getting very boring.Nothing much planned for today except some tidying up downstairs and this afternoon I may get the card making stuff out and look at it
I really need to get going on the family Xmas ones although the first one always turns out to be rubbish as I'm out of practice.....again.
Tea tonight will be bacon and cheese filled jacket potatoes ( there is some bacon that needs using up ) with mushrooms and beans. We'll have my fruit cake and custard for pud.Nelski please wish your Mum Happy Birthday from me. Hope she enjoys her afternoon tea. Pity we couldn't organise a party on the CharaBella I'll have to check my schedule to see if I can squeeze your DH in my salon, I'll have to make an exception as normally I only take V.I.P's you knowRedRuby I'm so happy for you and your DD that the house malarkey has been dealt with. Onwards and upwards now for you all.Gers hope you enjoy your breakfast and the company.Snoozer I'm sending healing vibes for your family and hugs to you and Esben.AOD hope the day gets better for you.taff I meant to say that I have a degree in art too....... colouring in, I'm a dab hand at that ! I am in awe of you and those that are artistic, I have trouble doing stick figures. I just wish I could get past having to have everything in straight lines( OCD) I have trouble with my card making as I don't like doing things on the wonk.Hope everyone can have a goodish dayTake care all, stay safe and keep sane on the bench....... no squabbling over the last bickie please !!nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Thanks everyone, Esben's rash is much better and he seems much better in himself. He ate his scrambled eggs for breakfast so he's regaining his appetite. Laura took him to the swings this morning so I took advantage to whizz round vacuuming and tidying and cleaning little hand marks off things, not that it will last.
Not a lot else to report. RR I'm glad it all went through ok and yah, boo sucks to the ex, he deserves everything that is hopefully coming to him.
Nelski, I can't bear the thought of Zoom quizzes either. I was supposed to do a course before lockdown which switched to telephone and then online but I declined to take part, I said I would wait until they resumed face to face courses. Thank goodness I don't have to work!11 -
Evening all,
Ruby...glad to hear that the house sale went through and that DD is rid of that maggot and get on with her life. You must now concentrate on getting yourself ready for your op and convalescence......prayers continue.
We had chicken casserole from the slow cooker for dinner.....was nice but not sure that DD set the timer correctly as carrots were a bit hard......said nothing as she can be very touchy, I know that she is busy at work but she insists on cooking all dinners.
Today was a nice day here, rather cold but sunny blue skies which cheers me up, I don't want or need to go anywhere but just feel bad that I can't go anywhere. I am rather uptight about the fact that DS2 may be spending Christmas alone in London, apparently there is soon to be a test that one can take (£200!)which will allow travel if negative.........I should have sense really, he is 46 years old and can manage his life well enough without me being stupid!!
Hugs to everyone who could use one or more, stay safe
