This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning
Rubes you are forgiven on the strict condition that you spend the coming week resting up. The new crown drops at the weekend so you have some serious catching up to do
Yesterday I had to endure a 3 hr "teams" work session. Unlike most people who seem to love the new zoom generation I can't stand them the very idea of an online quiz makes me shiver. Anyway this customer insists and of course right now it is the only way around my job.
Today is mine to do with as I wish so Im deciding between exciting activities such as bringing the bin in or the ongoing mission to declutter. On the other hand the Channel 5 Christmas film this afternoon may win through.
Tomorrow is Mums 90th birthday. Course no wild parties are possible so I have organised for an afternoon tea with lots of sugary treats clotted cream and scones. Hopefully we can have a knees up for her 91st instead
Food tonight will be a freezer rummage
Have a good Friday all12 -
Morning folks and thanks BELLA. Have a good shopping trip with your DM. Early wakening again here but I suppose that goes without saying! It looked horrible when I first peeped out. Rain lashing down with the wind sweeping it along the road. I think the rain has eased now but sadly not so the wind! My route march round the back to feed the birds may be postponed till later. Once the garden waste wheelie has been emptied I'll put that back and see to the birds at the same time.
The excitement of today is the Friday Tidy. These Fridays do roll round quickly. Then it will be the usual day of trying but failing to look busy. I should really tidy out the grocery cupboards and get stuff in date order and see just what I have got. They start off so organised and then end up a mass jumble of stuff.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. RR I hope all went smoothly and DD is over the last hurdle away from the toxic ex. You must all be so relieved that at least one big problem has been dealt with. Now just concentrate on you. SNOOZER I hope Esben is on the mend and Steve went on ok. Take care one and all and stay sane and safe. x

Morning All
Hope the house sale went through yesterday RR, what a relief for you all.
I too hate 'Teams' meetings Nelski, the conversation is so stilted and the screen seems to freeze when someone is pulling a funny face!
Work was very busy yesterday so was glad when 4pm came around. A quick visit to the very loud Miss Sophie and home for a swim - only 4 people in the pool which was lovely.
Friday again and it's a pyjama day, I'll pass on that and just wear jeans, I don't think anyone wants to see me in my old t shirt and pants!
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Good morning, thank you for starting today's thread Bellabella.
Friday the 13th has already got going - I made a cup of tea, took a big slurp only to find that the milk had gone off. Then it started raining. Last night I found my big ceramic roasting dish in two parts in the sink. I've got some toast and marmite now and am doing my best not to drop it.
Snoozer, thinking of your extended family.
Nelski, TEAMS is awful isn't it! I have to do a training session on Monday and it is so glitchy but I do need to make sure I keep on top of professional development as it is required for my registration.Though I'm not working at present, other than one completed piece of work that just needs to go to court in a few weeks. I thought that might be virtual but no, the family courts are open, just back logged.
OH has appeared, early for him. He likes the alarm to go off at 7 and then he has a lie in, usually gets up about 8.
I got quite a bit done yesterday, today I might do the Friday Tidy chachacha but I have tried to do some tidying each day. With mixed results.
Hope everyone has a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12 -
Morning folks. When the cleaner was here yesterday I whizzed out to the PO, pharmacy and cake shop. I like to give her a yummy piece of cake as she does a lot more than just clean. I chose a delicious looking baked white cheesecake. Then I spent the afternoon wrestling with a couple of spreadsheets. Actually I enjoy this 'wrestling". 😀 Later I did some editing of DM's memoirs which runs to 70 pages. It's been neglected for a long while until she suddenly decided to look at it yesterday. I did the spelling / grammar review before printing it out for her.In the early evening I too had a virtual event, mine was a heritage trust talk about the wonderful ceramic tiles which are lining the close walls of many Glasgow flats. (A close is the common entrance of Victorian tenements). The talk was hugely interesting and only an hour and a bit long.AOD - oh no!BELLA - thanks. I'm off for breakfast very shortly, I so need the company, the coffee, the poached eggs and the chat.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Friday to all.12

Morning all
Thanks for the thread Bella and hugs to all those in need.
Beano was reluctant to go out this morning, as soon as I open the back doors he can hear the rain pattering on the pram cover and won't come up the steps.
We were warned yesterday that the marina are using the on-site cameras to ensure everyone is abiding by the lockdown rules. We are so no problems will arise I hope.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.12 -
Morning all, a nice sunny day at the moment. I had a busy day yesterday emptying cupboards/cleaning and then deciding what to put on my new trolley. Just the kitchen drawers on that side to do today. Also got a Mr S delivery before lunch, & 1 large tv and 2 small for DS house from an electrical place ( hope he moves them out soon
,i'm sure they'll be in big boxes)
Tea will be something from the delivery.Hope Mum enjoys her cream tea Nelski, Happy 90th to her xHope Esben is improving Snoozer xHappy Friday everyone xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all
Raining here and blowing a hoolie as well it will be a wet walk with the pooches today !!
Thank you for all the good wishes for dd the house completed yesterdaywe are both so relieved , a while back the solicitor asked for almost £200 for searches or similar and the ex refused to pay so dd paid the lot just to be rid of him, anyway they got the closing statement yesterday and they have taken half of the payment off of the ex and given it to dd
he will be furious but I am so pleased, I think the solicitirs secretly hate him too after they way he speaks to people, anyway apart from a court case coming up in Jan (for the things he has done to her) thats him out of her life and she can start to move forward, she had a nice chunk of money behind her too to put towards a new property when she is ready.
Nels I promise to spend the next week restinglots of netflix and sofa for me, I am watching Greenleaf atm but plan to start on the crown when I am in hospital and at home recovering xx
DD has the day off today so we can walk the dogs together and I need to go to Mr S to pick up an order from argos, dd will go in and get it for me as I am not allowed in shops for now, I managed to get mum a food processor reduced from £90 to £50 which will do for mums birthday and christmas.
I shall be resting this afternoon as I did not have a good night, not sure about dinner but I might do an all day breakfast.
Snoozer I hope Esben gets well soon and that Steve is ok xx
Have good days all xx
