Care UK refund

I've recently received a letter from my late dad's care home - Care UK - saying I am entitled to a refund. Apparently this is as a result of a lengthy Court case taken against care homes by the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) over unfair business practices. The case is still continuing but part of it relates to fees charged by care home providers, including Care UK. Has anyone else received such an offer? One of the options is to reject the refund, and I'm wondering what the implications of that would be?

Ummm... it's just a guess... but I think that if you reject the refund, the implication is that you probably won't get the refund.
Hope that helps.0 -
What are the other options?0

Is the refund fair? or are you after more?1

This will be an offer to accept the £xxx refund as full and final settlement, or reject the refund but retain option to pursue for a different valuation (e.g. via court).0

The refund will be for the upfront ‘admin fee’ he was charged. If the offer you have received is less than the original fee then you should consider rejecting it, otherwise take it.
