Furlough for Zero hours contracts

I read Martin's Corona virus help page on Saturday and sent the link to my son who has been furloughed from his Zero hours contract. This information page changed by the time my son opened the link and no longer explains how Zero hours contracts are treated. He was just offered several sessions starting on the day of the new lockdown (he works in a library and they are open) and has worked 3 days. The information on the help page seemed to say that could not work any hours if they were furloughed. Can anybody clarify this?

As I understand it, furlough for zero hour contract is based on past average. It is not totally straight forward though. Hopefully someone will give further clarification.
However, if your son works in a Council-operated library, then the restrictions on public funds and furlough may apply.
