Replacing concrete post fence quotes

Hi all

We're looking into replacing half of the fence running down one side of our garden as the posts are all wonky and just generally look bad.

The job is to remove and dispose of 8 9ft concrete posts, 16 gravel boards (doubled up as neighbours land is lower) & panels and replace with new.

Two quotes so far which are £1570 and £1840. Second quote mentioned the job could be 3 or 4 days work.

The quotes were more expensive than I was expecting... is this reasonable for a fencing job (Staffordshire area)?

Do the posts and gravel boards really need replacing or can they be straightened up ?

Digging out posts, concrete or wood, can be a major pain in the a*** depending on how deep they are and how much concrete has been used to fix them in place. It is quite possible that the job could take a week to do - Although, if access is good, a minidigger would make short work of pulling out the posts, and with the right attachment, driving new ones in.  You'd need to weigh up the cost of hire against the time saved.

I've just had a quote to replace 9 wooden panels/posts with 6ft feather edge panels, concrete posts and gravel boards - £1600. Somerset.
