I know this is a very old thread but we had a letter from Flymo in April 08 about this recall, meant to get our mower checked over but forgot. I came across the letter over Christmas and took the mower along to one of the listed repairers at the beginning of the month.

Today I've had a message left saying that the Flymo is ready for collection and the charge will be £16! I hope they don't expect me to pay that on a product that was recalled due to a fault!

We bought a Flymo lawnmower from Argos three years ago, but we have had no electric shocks whatsover, I've used it a couple of times recently and had no problems, the model we bought is up there.

Mine too, but I'll be ringing Flymo about it on Tuesday to see what they say.

Dont see what they can claim to be honest, Argos are willing to collect something they do not have to do, seems quite fair IMO
You seem to be missing the point. If Flymo put out a product which is dangerous it is up to them to reimburse the costs associated with the product recall. The customer shouldn't end up out of pocket, neither should Argos. So if it is actually Argos collecting it, and not Flymo, then Flymo should be reimbursing Argos.
The OP didn't say it was an 0870 number.

online dictionary - compensation: the act of giving money or something else to pay for loss, damage, or work done

They are the same thing. Stop confusing the issue!!!
I don't give a toss what your online dictionary says, it is fairly obvious that remibursement of expenses is not the same as compensation. Nobody is expecting compensation, but it is reasonable to expect the old dear's expenses to be reimbursed. It's not her fault that she was sold a second-rate product.

I used my mower the other week and when I let go of the handle the lawn mower still kept having power to it (had to unplug it to turn it off.

It's one on their faulty list. Does anyone know what the recall fault is??

    Thank

I rang and spoke with the company and they told me that the fault was for models produced from 07 and that it is the pin breaking in the plug.
