Well, this has been a varied month.

Half way through, I got my best ever place in ParkRun - my first "podium" no less, even though 15 seconds behind my PB.

This week, I got my lowest ever position, but matched my PB.

How the vagaries of life roll around.

Took those 15 seconds behind my PB and moved them to 15 seconds off my PB :)

Two weeks until a 10-miler so I hope to get under last year's time for that.

Very pleased with the past month - managed to take my good form from Parkrun forwards to 6 minutes off my 10 mile PB 🥵🏃😀

Probably lost a bit in the last fortnight though as it's holiday time 🏖️

The holiday had the predicted effect.  Then returned with a cold plus the inclement weather so my runs towards the end of the month have been really rather woeful and very much off the pace.

Off to start a new year of fitness with my first Parkrun of the year today (New Year's Day run was cancelled because of the storm) - I was slow but, so it seem, was everyone else so I still secured a good position.  A strong focus on cardio over the coming months as I aim to beat my half marathon PB in March.

After a slow Parkrun I managed to achieve my slowest ever Parkrun the following week but then turned the corner and achieved better results each following week - no doubt in part to the conditions being better.  With steady progress I could achieve that half marathon PB that I am aiming for.  I have booked some track sessions on Thursday evenings which is something I have never done before so it will be interesting to see how that mixes things up.

Resistance training is going well for now.  Plus some plyometrics.

I have really enjoyed attending the track every Thursday though the results in terms of improved running times are not obvious.  I think any training benefit is being hampered by the cold weather impacting performance.  I have really struggled on some days when the temperature is at freezing or below.  I am optimistic that the half on Sunday may be joined with slightly warmer weather and still allow a respectable time.

    Thanks.
I was slower than my PB but a couple of minutes faster than November.
Actually think I might have over-done it with a heavy sprint session on Thursday evening last week which I was still aching from.
