MBNA Smart Rewards

Being an MBNA Everyday Visa card holder (originally Amex), I've just been sent an email that MBNA will be launching their MBNA Smart Rewards program very soon. I'm guessing its nothing to get excited about? Will it be similar to the Lloyds and Santander schemes?

I'll bet that the offers turn out to be conditional on me buying things that I don't want, or using shops that are of no interest to me. I recall that Santander did something like this a while back (their 1-2-3 credit card, I think it was), and it turned out to be completely useless to me.I also noticed that there's a hefty lag between earning MBNA's cashback and it actually getting applied to the card - anything up to two months.Still, I'll see what they actually offer. It's always possible that I might be pleasantly surprised.1
