Hi - I look after support a few new pub businesses in my job and I try to give them the best advice I can - the question I have is what support is there for a new business that just opened 1 week before the second lockdown and forced to close its doors after a few days of trading - I understand the principle of Furlough and local council grants ( based on rateable value ) however after considerable investment from these businesses to open what other support is there if any ?

My partner is a black cab driver, he was given £9000 back in May for his business as we were not entitled to anything else as he has a second job and I work part time. We have spoken to a charity who say we are -£800 a month mimimim as even with my wage it only covers our bills not including food etc (we have 2 children under 6). We are now in debt as we are behind in every and just as there was a small amount of work out there its now slowed down again and we are not entitled to any more help. Is there anything we can do or claim for? This is really unfair to those who work really hard.0

If you haven't already then use a benefits calculator to check entitlement.0
