Taff that looks like it could do with a nice hot tub inside an absolutely ideal home for a new spa set up and not far to run in the cold weather xSlava Ukraini12

Morning folks.Great Goth box Taff. 😀
Yet another day without a proper agenda. The FM is due to review our tier status though no change down is expected with an upward move threatened. I hope that the promise of an effective vaccine doesn't make people think that things are better.Yesterday I went out briefly to pick up some paperwork from an acquaintance from back home. Just time for a very brief chat through the car window. My beloved Dad used to whistle too. All this chat took me back a huge number of years making me sad and glad in equal amounts. I'm sure he told me that when they were marching the soldiers would whistle though I could be mixing the army up with the Seven Dwarfs, I do hope not. 🤣
RR - do rest up, you'll need all your strength very soon.
BELLA - well done to your daughter, I hope things work out for her.DM is still fast asleep. The afternoons spent drawing makes her so happy but also so tired. For now she's focused on drawing her Zimmer adding on various 'heads' and funny signs. Yesterday she did a strange robot head with a 'no ball games' sign round it. Very strange. Now it's time to wish everyone a very happy Tuesday.14 -
Morning all.
Taff, I have Goth Box envy. I could do with one of those in my garden to take all the bits that I can't fit in anywhere else.
AOD I also miss the days when all boys used to whistle. You used to hear errand boys whistling happily as they cycled along on their bikes with the huge baskets attached. I suppose no one would hear them now above all the traffic, even if they still existed riding their bikes. I used to be able to put two fingers in my mouth and emit a piercing whistle that brought a whole field full of under 11s to a silent standstill.
I can't whistle at all now. In the same situation I would have to rely on my trusty Acme Thunderer. Anyone remember those?
Today I'm doing my impression of a good housewife. Bit of fluffy stick waving, showing bits of carpet the vacuum and then tackling the dreaded ironing pile. I can hardly wait.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.15 -
Morning all, it's a bit brighter here today.I made the fruit cake in the bread maker yesterday but I'm not impressed as it's very dry, will go down better with custard I think. I did a cake for Dad too but I went back to my normal recipe and baked it in the oven, that's lovely and moist. He is coming over for lunch and tea today, I think we are all in need a bit of "other" human contact.I had a call from my old friend and ex-colleague last night with some sad news about another ex-colleague whose husband had passed away. It appears he had to go into hospital for something to do with his waterworks, caught Covid 19 whilst there and died, he was 63
I'm hoping that any new vaccine can stop this sort of thing happening.
I seem to have re-opened the Ama*on warehouse as since last night we have received 8 parcels for DD and I haven't even started on mine ! I will start tomorrow as DD gave me some ideas for DGD and I'm going to order Dad's too. There I've said it, now I have to do it ! I'm getting a bit anxious about having nothing ready even though I know there are about another 6 weeks to go, silly isn't it.Thank you to Bella for the image of march of the elephants, that made me smile. Hope your DD is ok.AOD thanks for an insight into the Ronnie Ronalde whistling competition. Does he do requests........Silent Night might be a good oneNelski don't think I'll bother kicking my heels up, Cardiff was rammed with shoppers yesterday as were other shopping centres and high streets. There were mile long queues for Primani and the yellow shed was packed to the rafters. IMO People are bonkers to want to stand in the rain for hours just to go into a clothes shop....... they were only shut for 2 weeks !!Taff impressive !! I love the way you have artistically placed the slabs too, another artist in the making ?Gers I now have the march of the 7 dwarfs in my head, with the lovely Dopey at the back ! That would be me BTWRight best get on laying the table as Dad is due about 12.Hope you can all have a good day and behave on the bench.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Very impressed taff, nice goth shed.
Nanny, yes Silent Night is in his repertoire. So far today, he hasn't whistled much but it will happen, always does.
Who said they were making sumner in winter chicken? I looked it up, now I am making it too. I haven't any creme fraiche but I do have creamy yogurt.
Burnt my finger on the toaster and apparently are getting mass virus testing here, those things are not related.
I'm having soup if leftovers today, that's my mse bit for the day. Also it is not raining any more so I've been for a look at my compost bin and my heap.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11 -

We only had ordinary yogurt and I thought we had Greek, which would have worked really well, I use it in lots of things. I really liked it but OH was less sure, he thought it was a bit under seasoned.
Among today's whistling offerings - Silent Night, Z cars, theme tune from Dr Zhivago, Oranges and Lemons and I can't remember the rest.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back6
