Cheap landline without broadband

I'm thinking of moving to fibre to property broadband and so won't need the phoneline and broadband. But as we do sometimes get power cuts I don't want to get rid of the landline. (Mobile reception is not good, so I don't own one.) I was hoping I could find a cheap phone only landline package but it seems this isn't offered.  The cheapest deals are for both phone and broadband. I'd like to find a way to find a cheap phone only deal. Call volume is pretty low, about two 1.5 hour calls and a handful of short local ones each month. Any ideas?

BT do a cheap deal for phone only customers ( not BT Basic that’s something else ) but qualification for it is  open to interpretation as it’s designed for those that don’t have broadband at all, from any provider ( not just BT ADSL or FTTC ) so if you have broadband from another source ( FTTP) then you may be refused it and have to pay the regular line rental without the £8/month discount .
Other providers can provide a phone only service over OR copper pairs, you would need to search , but consider the call charges if you intend to make calls as line rental may look tempting but call charges may not be great...TBH, if you are getting FTTP you could use it’s phone service most of the time and only need the copper pair phone very occasionally

Earlier FTTP installations had back-up batteries (ours has) but I'm not sure that they are still being provided - this is what was being said two years ago - https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2018/10/openreach-to-stop-providing-battery-backup-for-fttp-broadband.html#:~:text=At present new installations of,this is about to stop.

Its also worth noting that even if you've got a BBU on the ONT it will only support the phone if the phone is actually plugged into the ONT. It wont help if the phone line is provided via the router which is how most VoIP services are configured.
