Hargreaves Lansdown - tech error on my account

No luck from Hargreaves Lansdown support. But, a financial reporter got in touch and they are looking into it for me. I've just started to see some activity on my account of transactions being reversed, so I'll keep you posted.

Something seriously amiss with their system. On X-O although the transaction take time to update etc. The available quantity changes immediately, restricting the ablity to trade again.0

It does make me wonder... trades must have gone out to LSE and been executed. Presumably using shares held in the collective nominee account owned by other investors. What a mess that must be to clean up!

I know it's going off on a tangent a bit, so apologies : but has anyone "played" with eToro ?
I've got my stockbrokers and portfolio advisers but when I want to suddenly buy personally or play the virtual share-buying portfolio facility which is fun, I am drawn to eToro. Anyone else with views of eToro ? TIA----and once again, sorry to wander off topic from HG to a competitor

I received my contract notes, so I think everything was executed. It looks like they are reversing it in stages, transaction by transaction. Over the past three hours, I've had 11 out of the 13 transactions reversed. There's no trace of the transactions on my account anymore. They haven't contacted me, the only communication I received was a generic response to my online query saying they are aware, and there's no need to contact them as they are sorting it.masonic said:It does make me wonder... trades must have gone out to LSE and been executed. I tried a few times, but couldn't stay on hold for the amount of time needed to get an answer.ZingPowZing said:

This happened to my daughter but reverse direction she "bought" three times. So I had a look at Twitter, it's full of similar stories and the standard response from HL is something along the lines of "erroneous transactions will be reversed no need to do anything"

Given the average HL investor makes badly timed investments into poor choices then I can't imagine HL would be pleased about taking on responsibility for these duplicate market trades.
