Car insurance with M&S

I just moved home only a few weeks after taking out car insurance with M&S, I rang today to inform them of my new address, the advisor on the line told me that my insurance would cost more now that I had moved and he also charged me £25:00 for changing my address details!!!!
No other company, service provider, bank or regulatory department charged anything for changing my address, even DVLA (who have to make and send a replacement license) did not charge me!
This is just another way of making free money, my policy would have been invalid had I not updated my address, I am disgusted at the pure greed.

And you are disgusted that they are charging a fee for their work, that you agreed to in your T/Cs

Worth reading this, it is an old article but suggests a complaint is worth a punt to get some or all of the money waived.

Yes, it's a disgrace that they have to hire staff, provide work equipment, training, holiday pay, cover regulatory requirements for all these staff and charge you for the privilege of this when enabling you to change your details. Can you hear my sarcasm here?0
