Redundancy?

Options

It looks like the place I work at will close it doors in the next few weeks, as there is a potential merger with another branch.  Is there any general advise on what to expect in way of consultation periods and as my branch is the one that will close, can it be pushed on me that I need to work at the other branch, or can I just take redundancy.

If the other branch is within reasonable commuting distance and a position is on offer is similar with similar pay, then you will be expected to take this or resign. No redundancy option where there is an acceptable alternative job
