This is truly appalling. You're on the wrong phone tariff: 03 numbers are charged at exactly the same as 01 & 02 numbers. If you're calling from a PAYG mobile, switch to Three or someone else charging 3p/minute.It would have cost me 30p from my landline during the day using Pulse8.Next time call 0800 051 2193.1

Why are you phoning in readings, instead of online?,that would've provided almost instantly available,up to date information.
Possibly even allowed access to historical information also.
Not certain though dont think they can block a switch unless you owe more than £500,although with a debt on your part an alternative supplier may opt not to take you on.
Regarding your call charges, why dont you know what they are?.0 -

2.I am usually at work during the day so don't normally use my landline at all, but Covid 19 has meant working from home, so why would I know the charge for an 0345 number from Talk, Talk?0 -

Dont you think you should know your call charges?.
Probably not what you want to hear, your responses as above go a fair way in explaining why your in this position now,I think maybe Citizens Advice Bureau would be a wise port of call to explain things in a way you can understand and act upon.0 -
I'm sorry you have not been well.
Firstly you need to open an online account as previous posters have suggested.
You can then supply readings when ever you wish and get balances.
All you need is your Eon account number, email address and a created password. NOT your email address password. Do it now. No masters ifs or buts.
Forget the past, start sorting out the future and accept posters help. Peeps like @Gerry1have an Energy Masters.
Not sure why I'm bothering to write this. One of many Forumites giving and receiving help with lifes problems I suppose.
Maybe you could register with Eon special customer help.
Type 2 Smart meters as suggested could help. Fitting now, you will have to go to another room whilst they are being fitted.
If you don't like the above then I've wasted my time. QED
Good luck.1 -
Do you have gas CH and DHW? If so, then a single rate tariff is probably more economic, though not necessarily.
You would only have been put on an E7 tariff if your meter is registered as a dual rate E7 meter. Is it dual rate?
If it is, then E7 is applied by default. To get single rate, you'd have to request that the supplier totalise the readings off each register and bill you as if it were single rate: not all suppliers do this (if so, and you want single rate, then you need to request a meter change).
The supplier has no idea how you heat and hot water the property, and it's likely that the property was updated from NSH's and an immersion heater to gas CH and DHW, but no one bothered to change the metering to single rate.
If you do have a single rate meter, then you cannot possibly be on an E7 tariff. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
stepheye said:HI Stephanie,
Great advice here about bills and how to calculate them, thank you all
I am sorry about the wait to speak to us, we have been super busy, we're working hard to make this better.
There are a few things you can do to make this simpler and to keep on top of the account, if you pop some up to date meter reads on to your online account, you can then produce a real time bill or balance. If you click balance it will show you what is still outstanding or if there is a credit.
Keep providing regular reads this way and you'll know where you are.
Once you know exactly where the account stands you can use the Direct Debit manager tool, this will help you calculate how much you need to be paying each month.
If you don't need/want an economy 7 tariff, we can change the tariff for you to a one rate, please speak to us about doing this.
Hope this helps a little.
Helena
Also, I did ask earlier this year for the Economy 7 plan to be cancelled, but for a better rate to therefore be applied to my daily payment amount, but I was told it wasn't possible to change a plan once it had been activated.....?
PS: A further frustration, I have discovered that my phone company have billed me over seven pounds for the 30 minutes I was on the phone to EON using the 0345 number. This is truly appalling.
Many thanks, Stephanie
There should be no reason why we haven't given you the information that you need, this should be pretty simple. All of the info that you're after will show on your online account, as I say pop your reads on there and produce a real time balance.
We don't want you to pay to much, the aim is to achieve a zero balance at your annual review and that's why I suggested using the Direct Debit manager, as this will help you calculate the correct amount to be paying.
You can change from one E.ON tariff to another without having to pay an exit fee, you can also do this yourself online, so I'm unsure why you have been told that you can't once it's been activated. I do apologise as I do think you may have been misinformed.
Thanks

Will this thread end like the OPs previous threads?
Some thing isn't adding up.

In connection with phone call costsI have discovered that my phone company have billed me over seven pounds for the 30 minutes I was on the phone to EON using the 0345 number. This is truly appalling.I looked up the TalkTalk landline cost for a 30 minute call to an 0345 number, and it is £5.63 (30 minutes @ 18p plus a 23p connection charge) Other providers may well have call charges which would reach £7 for a 30 minute call.0
