Mixed messages about eligibility for extended Furlough Scheme.

MSE seems to be saying that I CAN now apply for the extended CJRS (furlough scheme), but when I go onto the gov.uk site to apply, and login, they tell me this:
-------
You cannot claim for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme grant
Employer PAYE reference: [redacted]31 July was the last date that you could submit your first claim. As you did not make a claim before 31 July, you are no longer eligible for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme grant.
-------
This seems rather strange that businesses who have not claimed in the past cannot claim now. Have I clicked the wrong link or something? Or should I be doing something else?

I haven't looked but many of the revised schemes are not open yet and will be in the coming days (i.e. BBL top ups start 10th Nov). So, perhaps you are being a bit premature?

That is indeed the issue. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/extension-to-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme/extension-of-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme
"Employers will be able to claim from 8am on Wednesday 11 November 2020. Claims can be made:
- in respect of an employee for a minimum 7 day claim window
- in advance
- in arrears for the period from 1 November 2020 to 11 November 2020
Claims relating to November 2020 must be made by 14 December 2020. Claims relating to each subsequent month should be submitted by day 14 of the following month, to ensure prompt claims following the end of the month which is the subject of the claim. The closing date for claims up to and including 31 October remains 30 November 2020."
