    Bella,

One of my memories of childhood is the apple charlotte my mother used to make with breadcrumbs and apple and serve with custard....mmmmm I want some now, I have stale bread, apples and lots of milk and eggs to make custard....you're a wicked woman to remind me!!

I have made some of my turkey stuffing with left over bread and frozen it...I don't use meat of any kind in the stuffing, just parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (!), a grated apple, onion salt and pepper and melted butter...am making lots as there were complaints last year that there wasn't enough. I bake it in a dish covered by smoked streaky rashers and it is lovely.
