It's probably fair enough, but realistically without seeing the job it's anyone's guess.

thanks Risteard, the premises is in its shell condition with capped off services i don't know if it can help.

As above it's hard to without a site visit, but that's a caveat for every thread on this board.
The usual answer is if you need to ask whether the quote is sensible, you need to get another quote or two to satisfy yourself.
To speculate wildly, it does seem a little high: For example, picking a group of lines at random: £660 to run 3x 32A supplies, with wiring into the CU done separately. Does that seem like 2.5 day's work? Or can it be done in 1.5 days, implying £350+ day rate?0 -

It will be a Type B distribution board, and much more expensive than a consumer unit type of distribution board. As will the protective devices - industrial rated devices are many times the price due to the greater breaking capacities etc.0 -
Thanks guys, I just have another question. The guy emailed me that I will need a main switch as well and asked extra £800.... Does it really cost that much?0

It depends. You can get mains switches from £35 to well over £800.
The guy might have just forgot the add the incoming switch when specifying the main distribution board. Depending on the amount of power available from the supply, the cost of this 'switch' might be anything from £100 to £800+. (It isn't likely to be just a switch, it might be an protective device such as an MCCB).
If for some reason you need a separate fused mains switch in an enclosure, and again depending on the power available from the supply, the cost could be £100 to £800+ bearing in mind that depending on the distance involved might require additional cables and will take time to fix the cables and terminate them into the main switch. I don't think £800 is unfeasible for a main switch for a commercial installation, but it's very difficult to say whether the contractor is charging too much when we don't know the size of the supply, the layout of the site and where the site is. (Rates can be very different in London vs. the North.)The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
As above it could be an MCCB into a panel board, or perhaps more likely a switch fuse unit upfront of the entire installation which could be rated at 250A/phase for all we know.

One thing that is missing is a SPD (surge protection).
With quite a lot of computer equipment (such as tills and lots of electronics in iterms) it is a no brainer
What make of DB is he suggesting (I would suggest Hager)
Sorry for the delay in answering as I have stopped having MSE in my start up pages as they do not update or moderate the board I look at (debate board). No posts since Marchbaldly going on...0
