Hearing Aids - know nothing. Best one to get?

Had a hearing screening at Specsavers and it shows mild/moderate hearing loss.
They showed me a price list ranging from standard to elite with varying prices. I haven't got a clue.
Is specsavers best place to go or somewhere else?

NHS will provide one free of charge. Best to start there.

    Go to doctors for referral.

Is that how you do it? Go to GP and tell them you've had a hearing test?

Will NHS just provide the basic, chunky behind the ear one? Not sure......

No, my hospital provide Signia models. Little silver devices that are virtually invisible behind your ear.

It took me a couple of years to be happy with my NHS hearing aid. Initially I was given one which was big and I have a small face.
After a number of requests and complaining that my friend had had a slim one from Bangor I was eventually given a smaller one. The first one also had a tinnitus masker, which I never used as it just gave a different noise.
Umpteen adjustments later, it's great. Wrexham audiology is good, but you have to persist.

I got the same one from the NHS as someone I know got privately. She wasn't impressed.
