Starting a new job during furlough scenes

Options
So I’m currently furloughed at a coffee shop where I’m contracted 16 hours. I’ve recently got a job
working for a garden maintenance/landscaping business. My question is, can I still legally take the furlough money for the month the shop is closed and work for the new job and if suddenly people can’t work as gardeners outside, would I be furloughed on the new job? Sounds like a stupid question but is there a certain amount of time you’d have to be in a job to claim furlough?

thanks

Whether you can work in another job depends on what your contract says for the job you're furoughed in.
No, you can't be furloughed for the new job because you won't have been on the payroll on 30th October.

You can do other work while on furlough, but you have to be available to return to work immediately if required by your employer.
You can't 'claim' furlough at all, it's entirely at the discretion of your employer, but, as stated above, you are not eligible anyway in your new job.
Garden centres are open during this lockdown and it's most unlikely that 'outside gardening' would be prohibited unless there were a total lockdown at home.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
