Car finance taken out by partners parents

This does seem a bit far-fetched, parents helping their son keep himself and family mobile.
Now the girlfriend want to go to pastures new and wants half the value of the car.
Maybe the son and his parents will be wise to give the girlfriend the car and be shot of her. Nothing that has been said elsewhere really shows that this is a relationship heading for success.
Why can't people just accept and trust that the norm is for parents to help their children in a true supportive way?2 -
Remind me never to have the OP as a daughter in law !1

KaleyCuoco said:In my defence I’ve been burned before financially by an X partner and his family, I’m just looking for some assurances.I think this has a lot to do with Kaley's concerns. It's the same as the people who suffered in bad relationships in the past being reluctant to trust a new partner and share finances.0

Bolted horses and stable doors is the best I can come up with.0

Sounds like the parents are the ones most at risk here. OP this should have been tackled before accepting the parents kind offer.0
