I feel for you we are in a very similar situation currently, it is what it is sadly.

Furlough though was never allowed to be used by schools.
Just to say I work for a private catering company within a school.

If they can use furlough then it's entirely down to your employer whether they choose to do this, although for child care reasons don't expect them to agree. All you can do is ask.

Some of the rules are just bonkers - your child is home self isolating but you can go work in another school. Go figure.
On the bubble issue, I don't mean to argue but just be 100% sure, especially it it would help you. My SIL, who is very careful, has used their bubble and was quite convinced it was acceptable. I thought the point of a bubble was that you were allowed to act as one household.
I get it if schools are adding their own requirements/requests but do check. What you posted only covers the change if symptoms occurs not the symptom free situation.
I suspect furlough won't be easily available as you are now required for the job. I think some of the flex for employers to choose who to furlough based on their care or health positions was more a feature of the early stages when the business itself had need for furlough.
I think the realistic options for you are benefits or juggling or possibly a conversation with the employer if they could arrange something which allows you to make up hours or have a little special leave as a compromise.
Plus of course the other parent, if appropriate.
It really IS tough for parents and whilst purely academically its easy to see why its not the employers' problem, it doesn't make it any easier to solve.

I’m assuming your child is too young to be left at home while you work?
Anyone in your household, or your extended household if you have one, can care for your child while you are out of the home, so any adult that is in your household or an older sibling of appropriate age.
