Hi all,
Back in January, I booked a package holiday for myself and 3 boys to Egypt for June. In April, I rescheduled to December.

Last month, original flight was cancelled so holiday company changed it to 2 days earlier (8th December) but with the current situation, I’d rather cancel or amend until next year (would prefer a refund with the situation and not knowing what next year is going to be like).

FCO advises against all but essential travel after 2nd December. I have travel insurance with bank. Should I wait it out and hope they cancel, or should I cancel it myself?

Any advice much appreciated please.

    I would hold your nerve.

To early to make a call but personally I suspect the holiday/flights will be cancelled or FCDO travel advisory will be for non-essential travel to Egypt in early December.
  • Thanks Westin - appreciate the advice.
I personally believe the same so guess a case of time will tell.

    Thanks again all

    I suspect the same.

I'm not up to date with the latest numbers for Egypt, however while some advice may change, we don't know which countries this will apply to.

You can't do anything until about 30 days before at the earliest, however it will likely be cancelled around the 14 day mark. I appreciate this probably isn't helpful for you now, but will be in a few weeks.

Really appreciate you taking the time to comment - thank you for your advice. I’ll keep checking every few days and hope things will cancel on their own. Thank you 😊
