Take item then scan barcode, which will be one of these three:
. On product itself
. On shelf ticket if something that doesn't have barcode such as single lemons
. Or buying loose fruit, veg, weigh the product on scales and print barcode
Then place directly into bag or too big for a bag - loo roll, case of beer etc into the trolley. If any products have security tags - spirits, CDs etc - don't pack them.

I have been to Tesco on 2nd Sunday of December before and used Scan n Go. Walked straight to a SnG till. Whilst those who got a cashier to scan their shopping, each till had 4 customers queuing all with £60 plus shops.0

I always have an assistant coming across. It's the wine that does it. 🤣0

You'll likely be 'checked' much more frequently for a while, and as long as your basket tallies every time, you'll find that the checks get further apart. You might even find you get checked every time for the next few visits. As for the police - they won't be coming knocking on your door don't worry.0

In Waitrose, I put the shopping in the trolly and only put in a bag after I’ve scanned it, I also count the number of items but I appreciate if you’ve got a large shop that’s not easy.0
