NowTV broadband and calls

I signed up earlier this year for NowTV broadband and calls and I pay extra per month for anytime calls. I looked at my bill for this month and discovered that some calls were being charged as extras. On investigation, it appears that NowTV consider 0845 and 0870 as premium and charge 15 pence per minute. Whichever phone company I have had my broadband and calls contract with in the past, I have always paid for anytime calls but this is the first supplier that have excluded these phone numbers from the deal.
Often these numbers are used by larger companies as an automated central switchboard and you normally spend a long time button pressing before getting to the dept. you require. So at 15p per minute, these will certainly alter your monthly bill, therefore making the initial contract deals that they entice you with totally misleading.

So in other words with all due respect you didn't check whether 0845/0870 numbers were included in the anytime calls before joining?  You just assumed they would be.

And there are ways round call charges for 0845/0870 number only companies.

I think you'll find that most suppliers charge for 0845/0870 calls nowadays. use this website https://www.saynoto0870.com/ to find a geographical number instead of paying.
