Changing mortice lock

Looking to change locks in new house, I'll change the euro cylinders on the patio doors myself. But, not sure about the 5 lever mortice deadlock. Does the whole mechanism need replacing or is it as easy as changing the euro cylinder?

you just need to knock/prize out the deadlock chunk from the door.  have a look at some youtube videos. pretty simple.

You take the whole lock out and replace it - the layout and spacing of the keyhole and handle hole need to be the same but even if they are the lock itself might be a tiny bit different in size and may not fit in the mortise (the hole in the door) so ideally get the same brand of lock to maximise the chance of it fitting without any extra work being needed
