Toshiba smart television. Apps not working.

Hi,  got toshiba smart television but cannot use the apps.  Error message is not connected to internet check Connection and settings yet the settings indicate that we are connected wirelessly.   Rang virgin media who said the television settings need updating but cannot find where I can update.  Could anyone point me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance for any help.

    The date and time are correct on the television.

    If none of the apps work it's clearly not connected.
    If possible run a wired cable.

    I have a Toshiba TV;...the Apps will only  access the internet and download programmes etc  if the TV is connected to an external aerial and is receiving strong Freeview signals. Removing the aerial paralyses the Apps.

    It’s a bit odd I know, but that's how it works,...or should I say, that’s how it doesn’t work!

    I would check in setup network settings and remake  wireless connection .

    Ive reconnected the wireless Network as internet was not connected to the tv at all.  Reconnected but the apps still don’t work.  Network settings show That  WiFi connected

    It was working and haven’t done anything with aerial that I know.  Maybe thinking if I start again setting up the tv?

    All back on now.   Reconnected to internet with password and it worked.   I did connect to internet yesterday without putting in the pw so I don’t know what happened there.  Thanks for your help.

    Glad it's sorted. :)

    My Toshiba performs  automatic updates at 3am (if they’re available) and on occasion it does throw everything out of kilter until a complete re-tune is performed, which can be a bit of a pain as it means entering all the passwords  etc again for each App.

    On such occasions the Apps/internet are completely kyboshed until the retune is completed because for the Apps to work properly the TV must be able to see active Freeview TV channels through the aerial.  

    Toshiba not-so-smart  TV’s move in mysterious ways. :D
