Seller solicitor taking too long to respond

2k is a lot if you have no property to sell as well as part of your purchase. I paid less than that as a seller/buyer a few years back.
Personally I don't think it's been that long, solicitors are busy right now with the stamp duty holiday and you haven't been waiting that long. If you have no chain things will start moving more quickly, just be patient and see how things pan out over the next couple of months. You say he was away for a few weeks - that will account for some of the delay. You won't consider pulling out so all you can do is ask your own solicitor to stay on top of it and chase them regularly.0 -
Its not about seller lawyer is being busy its about doing his job right. He sent half of the property paperwork. It took him more than 8 working days to print out same paperwork and send it back (literally 2 mins job took him 8 working days). All these adds time to sell/buy process because some guy cannot do him job properly. Not to mention previous buyer finance did not go through so this house went back in market so he had plenty of time to gather relevant paperwork. This is not the first time UK government made changes to the property market so lawyers should be able to handle such changes.
Finally my lawyer has raised enquiries and its already 2 and a half week yet seller solicitor has not answered email that would take him 15mins to write. EA, seller and my lawyer chased him yet his not answer his email. Last update EA told me is the director has told his solicitor to answer the enquiries. I mean why would you take the case if you cannot work on it.
Is there any legal actions I can take against poor quality of service seller solicitor is providing? anything I can do to push this forward?

No, if it's poor service then that's for the seller to complain about. If you don't like the speed at which the seller is progressing the transaction, you can try encouraging them to use a different solicitor (though starting from scratch with somebody else isn't necessarily going to be any faster), or pull out and sell to somebody else.dipesh010 said:Is there any legal actions I can take against poor quality of service seller solicitor is providing?

I have no shame telling others not to pick Kenneth Elliott & Rowe, Romford law firm to process their house buy/sell as the director/partner of that company is worse.0 -
You aren't the solicitors client. You have no relationship with them.dipesh010 said:Is there any legal actions I can take against poor quality of service seller solicitor is providing?
The last people you want to take to court are solicitors.0 -
Not helpful. You do know that there are other solicitors who are expert in laws and can help lawyers take to court due to their negligent behaviorThrugelmir said:

But there has been no negligent behaviour.
And even if there had been you can't complain, only the solicitors client (your vendor) can.0 -
Sending half of the paper work at the first instance, not responding the enquiries on time. Is thats not being extremely bad at his job.Slithery said:But there has been no negligent behaviour.

Seller has installed new boiler with 2 years warranty. Paper work for this should be obtain from the solicitor or the EA? also what other paperwork am i expect to get from lawyer and EA? because i did not get any info to who i need to pay ground rent etc,..0 -
It is helpful and accurate advice. You have absolutely no case against the other party's solicitor for "negligence".dipesh010 said:

The seller will provide the paperwork (if they have any) to their solicitor, who will pass it on to your solicitor, who will then put it to one side along with the rest of your paperwork until they have everything they need. Only then will they contact you.dipesh010 said:

You will get nothing from the EA, they don't work for you. When your solicitor has everything they need from your vendors solicitor they will get in touch. Asking for an update from them before then just slows down the process for everybody.3
