Ultimately if you're unable to get the retailer to resolve you will have to send a letter before action (Google for templates) and then start the small claims court process.
What is the limit for small claims?
    The hot tub cost £18k.

    Up to £10k
This will be a fast track case where legal costs are fully recoverable and on an assessed costs basis eg hourly charging rate by a solicitor, if either side use a lawyer and the judge awards them.

What's the difference in price between what has been received and what was expected? If that's under £10k and you would be happy to receive the difference in price and keep what's been sent, then small claims may be the way forward.

Other than that it's fast track.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

It was a rhetorical question to point out that the small claims court route may not be the solution suggested... ;)

  • £18k for a hot tub? 😬

    How did you pay?
  • Is that website linked to by Penguin the manufacturer's site?  Did you buy it from the manufacturer, or from a third party?  If you bought it from a third party, how did they advertise it and what standard features did they advertise?

Depending on how the people you bought it from advertised it, I'd be going back to them and tell them that what they've sold you is not what was advertised and you are rejecting it and want your money back, or you want a partial refund in acknowledgement of the missing features.

Obviously colour was not an issue for you as you were happy to accept what was in stock - are you absolutely sure that they didn't draw your attention to any "missing" features or perhaps give you a list of the specifications etc which may have identified some fetures that were missing?
