The important date is when the service should have been provided, and wasn't - so I feel you're going to be disappointed if you have no cover in place for when the holiday was booked.

The table of annual travel policies that have expired states MSE are still waiting to hear back from LV regarding covering claims..Please can you follow this up as they have rejected my claim for a non refundable hotel in the Canaries I booked in February for a visit in November. I did not renew my policy in October and they have now rejected my claim that I raised following the international travel ban

How do you expect to raise a claim on an event due to take place in November if your insurance expired in October? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Until Boris announced the lockdown last Saturday evening you could still travel to the Canaries yet you deliberately let your insurance lapse. This implies that you obviously had no intention of going there yet you expect to claim off your insurance for a non refundable hotel.
Not a chance!0 -
There will likely be something in the policy regarding continuous cover. LV are therefore correct in saying that you are not covered in this situation.💙💛 💔0

Don’t understand this either? You have not had any insurance for this holiday if you let the policy lapse. Think of car insurance, if you let it lapse and have a crash the week (or day even) after, would you think you would be covered because you had it in place when you bought the car? Harsh lesson learnt I think.1
