I have been trading for over 20 years as an outside caterer. I have had two small jobs for wakes this year and have bookings for next year and 2022. To keep my sanity and help pay the bills i have got a part time job for 10 hours a week, however i have to do a months training, 5 hours a day. Will i be eligible for the SEISS 3rd grant as i am still trading? I will inform HMRC once i have my contract and start date. Still cannot believe i managed to get through 2 interviews and get the job.

As well as intending to continue to trade, you have to show either reduced demand, or temporary inability to trade, due to coronavirus.1

If you got the first two Seiss grants then i would expect you to be eligible for grants 3 & 4. As you are still intending to trade.

Hello there,
I'm in the same situation (though on a much smaller scale). I was eligible for the 1st and 2nd SEISS grants - received £481 and £421. I work from home and pre-pandemic my wages ranged from 300 to 500 a month. As I've not earned above 20/month since April, I've had to find myself a PAYE job until my self employed situation picks up (I type outsourced NHS work via a transcription firm). This new position is for 15hrs a week and should start early December after the routine induction, etc. It's within the NHS and is initially 6 months fixed term. I really need to claim the 3rd grant when available if this is allowed. I am assuming it's based on past earnings, not the future earnings from the PAYE work (which I probably will miss the December pay period for and be paid in January). I've has 30 years experience within the NHS and will be glad to get back to it.0 -

SEISS is based on past self-employment and not the future PAYE work.
Do you intend to continue / return to the self employment?1 -
Yes I've been self-employed for quite a few years, but as the NHS has put most things on hold to deal with Covid, the firm who I sub-contract from has picked up no outsourced clinic work. As soon as this situation changes, I'll have work. Until then, it's a case of checking for work several times a day. This is why I've had to seek PAYE work as due to my husband working (furloughed initially but now back working) I'm entitled to no benefits.0
