Costco mattress collection scheduled after 1.5 months

Hi,
I ordered two single mattresses from costco, both arrived on different dates and one is different to other in terms of pattern.
As usual costco has been very good and arranged collection.
However the logistics company supplier chose for collection has earliest collection date of 16th December.
Which means I have to keep unrolled mattress in my house for about 1.5 months and make sure it remains as new.
Is this reasonable? Can I ask them that they have to pick it up in a few days or I will not be responsible for its condition?
Cheers.

Of course you can ask, but in the current climate, I don't think they're being unreasonable. Why do you think you might not be responsible for its condition in the meantime? You absolutely are. What are you planning to do, eat off it?
Surely it can sit behind the sofa for a few weeks, or behind a wardrobe, or somewhere similar out of the way?0 -
Don't you put sheets on your mattresses anyway? Given we're in lockdown I can understand delays in collecting the item but perhaps you could ask Costco if there's another courier they can arrange?1

Actually I think over a month is completely unreasonable. They may not have an unused spare room to keep it in, or may have children who tend to get things messy. Unfortunately there's very little that the OP can do about it.1 -

Well, you can keep asking but you have no leverage to get them to collect it sooner I'm afraid.1

They may have limited people available due to staff absent or quarantining
Their crews may not be able to go into homes during lockdown. The last time many firms were delivering to the doorstep only and collection after lockdown.
Amazon deliveries are completely different. They are put on the doorstep for you to lift. They do not hand it to you nor enter the house.

I am sure the OP has no objection to them employing agency staff or subcontracting the job

Couldn't you put the mattress in a room that your 4 year-old can't access? I'd be spending the 1.5 months waiting for Costco to collect it teaching my 4 year-old what they can and can't draw on.0
