So I currently have one with HSBC and I have a bank account with them 
if I set a current account up with marks and Spencer’s can I also have a regular  savings account with them

Yes, you can. Thankfully HSBC aren't going to tell M&S to not let you open a regular savings account with them.

In theory yes. In practice, to get an M&S RS, you need to have a current account CASS-switched to them, which realistically cannot be achieved before they withdraw their RS.
